Samsung Adds Intel Processor To Chromebook 2
Samsung, hopes to stand out from the dozens of other PC companies putting out Chromebooks with its aggressively priced Chromebook 2, which starts at $249. Up for pre-order today and officially goes on sale Oct. 20, the new, 11-inch (1366x768) Chromebook 2 is equipped with an Intel Celeron (N2840) processor with speeds up to 2.58GHz and a 1 MB L2 cache,. It also comes with an overall system memory of 2GB, eMMc technology and a storage capacity of 16GB.
Samsung claims that the Chromebook 2 offers up to nine hours of battery life. It also includes enhanced sound and camera features, with two 2 watt speakers, an internal microphone and a 720p HD web camera.
The device is weighing 2.6 pounds and measures half an inch thin, supported by a metal frame from top to bottom and covered with a leather-like case.
It's worth noting that most other competing Chromebooks run on a similar Intel Celeron processor, such as Acer's 11-inch Chromebook and Toshiba's new Chromebook 2.
