TDK'S new DA-5900 makes home AudioCD recording easier than ever
TDK reaffirms its position as a leading-edge supplier of high-performance digital audio recording solutions with the introduction of its DA-5900 Audio CD Recorder. The DA-5900 is an advanced dual-tray standalone home audio CD deck that offers unparalleled sonic performance, along with a host of convenience and performance features such as AutoDub one-touch recording and the industry's fastest 4x CD-to-CD-R dubbing speed. In addition, the TDK DA-5900 sets a new price/performance benchmark in audio CD recorders at a suggested retail price of just $249.
The TDK DA-5900 is designed for ultimate digital audio recording quality and ease of operation. The deck records on audio-only CD-R and CD-RW discs, and includes a full complement of digital and analog inputs and outputs, to accommodate any digital or analog music source and connect to any home entertainment system. Featuring an all-new elegant industrial design, the deck's sleek, black-finish and understated appearance complements any audio/video system.
Noted Yong Park, TDK Product Manager: "With the introduction of our first audio CD recorder two years ago, TDK signaled its intention to lead the way in providing music-passionate consumers with ultimate-performance solutions for all their recording and listening needs. Since then, home CD recording has become overwhelmingly popular - and with the introduction of the DA-5900, TDK is making high-quality CD recording easier and more affordable than ever before, bringing studio-grade sonic performance and features within the reach of everyone who loves great sound."
One-Touch CD Recording Convenience
The TDK DA-5900 is designed for the ultimate in sound quality, ease-of-use and flexibility. For example, the deck's 4x-speed dubbing feature operates in all dubbing modes including individual track, programmed track and full CD dubbing - giving users the ability to create custom CD compilations in a fraction of the time it would take for real-time recording. In addition, TDK's exclusive AutoDub feature enables one-touch recording and finalization, without the need to record and then manually finalize a disc. Users can enjoy the benefits of the DA-5900 in just minutes, thanks to the included QuickStart guide that makes it simple to set up and operate the deck.
The DA-5900 includes a host of additional convenience features, such as an adjustable recording level control for both digital and analog recording, intuitively laid out recording and playback controls, automatic and manual track indexing for analog music recording, a CD Sync function that automatically begins recording when a CD (or other digital source) is played, and much more. The DA-5900 also offers a full range of CD programming, repeat and playback modes, and all functions can be operated via either the front panel or the supplied remote. A headphone jack with level control facilitates critical monitoring during recording.
When recording digital sources other than CD (such as the output from a home digital multitrack recorder or DAT deck), the DA-5900's built-in sampling rate converter automatically converts their digital audio output to CD-standard audio, enabling direct digital-to-digital recording for the best-possible sound quality.
Unsurpassed Digital Audio Performance
The TDK DA-5900 incorporates a wealth of advanced digital technologies for outstanding audio quality. It features premium-quality D/A and A/D converters for exceptional resolution and dynamic range, to record and play back every musical nuance with unmatched fidelity and realism. Additional refinements include precision disc mechanisms for foolproof CD recording and playback, a one-touch CD-RW disc erase feature, and internal components specially selected for maximum sonic purity.
The DA-5900 comes supplied with a remote control and batteries, analog and digital audio cables, a blank music CD-R disc, the QuickStart guide and a detailed manual - everything needed to start recording CDs right out of the box. The TDK DA-5900 is fully compliant with the SCMS Serial Copy Management System, which limits digital copying to one generation.
The TDK DA-5900 Digital Audio Recorder is currently available at a suggested retail price of $249.
