Toshiba Announces One-Pound 'Palm-Sized' Mobile Projector

Toshiba Announces One-Pound 'Palm-Sized' Mobile Projector

Consumer Electronics Oct 17,2006 0

Battery-operated TDP-FF1AU features LED light source, 400 Lux of brightness, PC-less presentations, rechargeable battery and folding screen for $699. Toshiba's Digital Products Division today introduced the one-pound TDP-FF1AU DLP (digital light processing) palm-sized multimedia projector. About the size of a paperback book, the TDP-FF1AU is one of the lightest and smallest projectors on the market and Toshiba's first battery powered portable projection solution for mobile professionals, trainers, gamers, small-to-medium businesses and digital entertainment with an estimated single unit price of $699.

The TDP-FF1AU can be used for small group presentations, movie nights, video games, as well as classroom and business presentations. The TDP-FF1AU can project an 11- to 68-inch diagonal image and comes with a foldable 23-inch diagonal display screen, rechargeable battery, battery charger and carrying case.

The TDP-FF1AU delivers a 400 Lux of brightness with a native SVGA 800 x 600 resolution and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. Toshiba's TDP-FF1AU projector is designed with DLP technology for quality and consistency on the screen.

In addition to the convenience of the projector's size, the portable Toshiba TDP-FF1AU is built with an energy-efficient LED (light emitting diode) light source that can last for up to 10,000 hours of use. The LED light source does not heat up the projector, eliminating powering up or cool down time, and increases battery life. A fan isn't required either, enabling quiet operation.

Free from the dependency of electrical outlets, the battery-operated TDP-FF1AU can be used anywhere, anytime. The projector's ability to operate on low power consumption enables approximately two hours of battery life.

The projector comes packaged in a sleek, white finish. All input and output connectors are located on the side of the projector and the projector includes a 0.5 watt speaker for enhanced presentations.
