Toshiba Expands Package Line-up of Interface Bridge LSI for LCD Displays

Toshiba Expands Package Line-up of Interface Bridge LSI for LCD Displays

PC components Jun 14,2013 0

Toshiba has expanded its package line-up of interface-converter bridge LSIs for high resolution LCD display that are used in tablet PC, Ultrabooks and other applications. The TC358778XBG supports a maximum resolution of 2580 x 2048 (24bit, 60fps), while the TC358778XBG supports 1900 x 1200 (24bit, 60fps). Toshiba will start mass production of the TC358778XBG in June, followed by the production of the TC358777XBG in July.

The new package products reduce makers' cost of assembly and materials in two ways.

The ball pitch of the original LSIs was 0.4mm, meaning that and fine pitch assembly equipment was required for its production. Toshiba has expanded the ball pitch from 0.4mm to 0.65mm, allowing for assembly with no need for such equipment.

In addition, Toshiba has optimized the pin assignment of the LSIs allowing for low cost layputs without a PCB with more than 4 layers.
