Toshiba Introduces Full HD LED-TVs with Embedded Blu-ray Player

Toshiba Europe GmbH today announced its first range of LED-TVs with an integrated Blu-ray player. The company also today unveiled two new ranges of LED TVs with screen sizes of 47cm (19"), 55cm (22") 66cm (26") and 80cm (32").

The new DB833 series offers a comprehensive HD feature set including a Blu-ray HD player and HD tuners in a compact form.



The DB833 series will be launched with two models differing in screen size: one with a Full-HD panel measuring 80cm (32"), another measuring 107cm (42").

Both TVs feature HD tuners for DVB-C and DVB-T. The DB833 series TVs will be available as of April 2011 across Europe. Toshiba Europe will be launching Full-HD LED HL series TVs without a Blu-ray player across Europe in March 2011.

With the integrated Blu-ray player, a LED backlit Full-HD panel with 1920x1080 pixels and an HD tuner supporting DVB-T and DVB-C, the DB833 series promises to offer a high-quality home cinema feeling. The new all-in-one devices also support CI+ for Pay-TV decoding and are able to serve as a media player to playback photos, videos and music directly from a compatible storage device such as a USB memory stick plugged into the TV?s USB port. To facilitate access to entertainment content a large selection of file formats including mkv, jpg, mp3, divX, avi, and mkv is supported. Besides the USB port, the DB833 also features two HDMI interfaces and a VGA port for PC input.

For consumers who already own a Blu-ray player Toshiba also offers models without an integrated Blu-ray player which provide a set of specifications that is similar to that of the BD series.

Toshiba's EL and DL series of LED TVs includes models with screen sizes of 47cm (19"), 55cm (22") 66cm (26") and 80cm (32").

All TVs provide a broad selection of connectivity features . In addition, the DL series also offers an integrated DVD player. All new TV sets will be available in black or white. The DL series with an integrated DVD player and the 47cm (19") and 55cm (22") EL series devices will be available across Europe as of March 2011. The larger EL series models are expected to follow in April 2011.

Ranging from 47cm (19") to 80cm (32"), Toshiba's EL and DL models have an HD ready panel with Edge-LED backlighting.



A variety of connectivity features are included across the whole range of EL and DL series devices. All models feature two HDMI inputs. Thanks to REGZA Link (HDMI-CEC), all linked devices can be controlled with a single remote control. All models also include a PC port and a USB port. The TVs also serve as a media player with compatibility to many file formats such as jpg, mp3, divX, avi, and mkv. The newcomers are equipped with both an analogue tuner and a DVB-T/C tuner which supports HD picture quality while the CI+ slot (Common Interface) enables users to subscribe to different pay TV channels.
