Waymo to Test Autonomous Trucks in Texas and New Mexico
Waymo, the self-driving unit of Alphabet Inc, said on Thursday it will start testing autonomous trucks and vans in Texas and New Mexico this week.
"This week, we will start driving our Chrysler Pacificas and long-haul trucks in Texas and New Mexico. These are interesting and promising commercial routes, and we’ll be using our vehicles to explore how the Waymo Driver might be able to create new transportation solutions," Waymo said in a tweet.
Earlier this month, Waymo said its vehicles had covered more than 20 million miles (32.2 million km) on public roads since its creation in 2009.
