Roxio Demonstrates Support for New Interactive DivX Media Format
Roxio will today demonstrate technology to be used in forthcoming products that feature the new DivX 6 media format.
DivX 6 offers a combination of high-compression, high-quality, menus, multiple audio tracks, subtitles and other enhancements, and is designed to enable a true interactive experience for DivX users.
"With its high-quality and interactive experience, DivX 6 is a major step forward for DivX enthusiasts, and we are extremely pleased to be a major enabler of the technology," said Stephen Mold, European director of sales and marketing at Roxio, the consumer division of Sonic Solutions. "Adding interactivity to DivX video technology will give users a more personal way to share and enjoy their videos, making the superb DivX standard ever-more popular with home video consumers."
"Roxio is a leader in consumer DVD and CD burning, and by partnering with them we have taken an important step in bringing this new technology to our customers," said Kevin Hell, chief operating officer for DivXNetworks. "Users will soon be able to create interactive DivX video and play it back on DivX-certified players for enjoyment in the living room."
The interactive DivX 6 menu technology demonstration will take place daily during CeBIT on the Roxio stand -- Hall 21 Booth 48A -- viewing is by appointment only. Please contact Roxio personnel to arrange an appointment.
Roxio is a DivX-licensed software partner and supports existing DivX video functionality on its leading consumer products including Easy Media Creator(TM) 7 and VideoWave(R) 7 Professional. Roxio plans to feature the new DivX 6 technology in future versions of Roxio's Easy Media Creator, Easy DVD Copy and MyDVD later this year.
