Sony's New Line of High Performance CD-RW Drives are Ready to Burn

"..Sony Electronics is expanding its Spressa(TM) CD-ReWritable (CD-RW) line with four new drives that record at an incredible 10X (CD-R)maximum speed, allowing 650MB CDs to be recorded in as little as seven minutes.

These new drives -- the Spressa i.LINK® (CRX145E/XI) external drive, the Spressa Professional external SCSI (CRX145S/XS), the Spressa Professional internal EIDE (CRX145E/CH) and the Spressa Professional internal SCSI (CRX145S/C) -- all support high-speed 10X maximum recording for CD-R, 4X maximum recording for CD-RW and 32X maximum for reading. All four drives will be available next month.

The Spressa USB Plus (CRX100E/X2) external drive supports quad speed (4X) maximum CD-RW recording and comes with CD Extreme(TM) (Windows) software, Discribe(TM) CD Creation (Macintosh) software, abCD (Windows) software, Spressa Play & Record software, Retrospect® Express software (Windows and Macintosh) and MixMan® Studio software. It is currently available for $299(a).

The Spressa Value (CRX140E/CH2) internal EIDE drive supports 8X maximum recording (CD-R), 4X maximum recording (CD-RW) and 32X maximum reading, comes with CD Extreme (Windows) software and abCD (Windows) software and will be available next month for $249(a).." NULL
