Sanyo, Univenture collaborate on disc ‘Bindery’
Univenture Inc. has added more functionality to its U-1000 automated disc packaging equipment out of a recent project with Sanyo Laser Products.
Sanyo required the ability to auto insert a replicated disc into a reusable sleeve and then bind the sleeve, with the disc, into a perfect-bound publication for a major book-publishing corporation.
“Univenture has worked proactively with us to develop the U-1000 bindery solution. It has dramatically increased our throughput and lowered our operating as well as manpower costs. We are now aggressively marketing our disc bindery services to the publishing industry,” stated Jodi Widau, senior buyer for Sanyo Laser Products.
The U-1000 technology, patented by Univenture, can auto insert discs at speeds up to 4,200 discs per hour.
