Epson has announced the L-500V, a 5Mp compact digital camera with a 2.5-inch LCD screen and a 3x optical zoom.

Epson claims that the 589,824-pixel LCD screen is the world’s highest definition consumer display on the market at 256ppi. The camera also features VGA movie capture at 30fps and a USB interface.

Due to ship in November this year, the camera will cost around £237 plus VAT.
