Samsung Galaxy S10 Smartphone Said to Come in Three Versions, With Up to Five Cameras On Board

Samsung Galaxy S10 Smartphone Said to Come in Three Versions, With Up to Five Cameras On Board

Smartphones Sep 14,2018 0

Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S10 series of smartphones in early 2019, and according to a new report, the top-of-the-range configuration could boast five different cameras.

ETNews suggests that the most expensive model of the series, which will include three models, will come with a major camera upgrade.

Two of the phones will come with a dual-camera system on the back, but the top Samsung Galaxy S10+ will be upgraded to a triple-camera setup. At the same time, it's expected to boast a dual-camera configuration on the front as well.

It is not clear what exactly the third lens on the rear side of the model will offer. But if Samsung indeed switches to a triple-camera configuration on the back, there's a chance that a fingerprint sensor would actually be integrated into the screen of the device.

Adding more cameras also means that Samsung will have increased demands for camera modules. The company is reportedly trying to diversify its camera module suppliers. Currently, the rear cameras for the Galaxy S series has been supplied only by Samsung Electronics or Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

The Galaxy S10 is projected to land in early 2019, possibly in late January, with sales to begin shortly after the unveiling.
