be quiet! Light Wings Fan Review
3. Conclusion
be quiet! was very "quiet" concerning RGB lighting but apparently, things have changed and now finally they introduce their first "be quiet! fan with ARGB lighting". Usually ARGB fans have high led counts but poor performance and high noise, but as was expected be quiet! introduces a product that is solid, has good warranty (3 years) and low noise. Compared with other ARGB fans, the Light Wings features two series, the PWM and the PWM High-Speed models. The "normal" RPM only spin up to 1700rpm (120mm) producing low noise down to 20.6dB. The High-speed PWM produces much higher noise (31db) but also better performance as well, so it’s up to each user to decide which fan should buy or not.
The products we received for testing were the 120/140mm PWM versions. Both have the exactly same design and same box contents. You will need a 3pin-header for your motherboard to work with. The Asus Aura recognized the header and automatically synced all installed RGB lighting. We were very pleased with the overall aesthetic result, the light is bright enough and consistent across the entire RGB ring. Note that only the outer ring emits light and not the blades. Overall can highly recommend this product for all users who are familiar with the be quiet! quality and now you can add RGB to your case/fan and enjoy silence with beauty. The retail price for the 120mm PWM is around €22.90 / $26.90 / £22.99, while the 140mm PWM gets an extra Euro, €23.90/ $29.90 / £24.99.
