Mitsubishi Chemicals announced on Thursday that the company's first 8X DVD-R DL will be available at the end of April. The new dicscs are identified by the various DVD recorders with the MKM 03RD 30 MID code, and they are certified for recording at the 2-8x speeds.



The media are fully compliant with the DVD-R DL Ver.3.0 8X-speed specifications, and it will sell for approximately 1,500 yens ($13).
