Fujitsu Introduces New ESPRIMO Models Based on Latest AMD Processors

PC components Jun 14,2010 0

Fujitsu today announces two new ESPRIMO models based on the latest AMD PC platform. Enterprise users have two new choices from the Fujitsu portfolio: the ESPRIMO E5645, a small form-factor PC, or the ESPRIMO P5645, a microtower.

PC users today need to be able to run multiple programs simultaneously without experiencing sluggish performance. For example, if a user wants to run an automatic virus scan while burning a DVD, the new ESPRIMO models provide a great price/performance ratio by utilizing the power of the new six-core AMD Phenom processors with Turbo Core technology. The six-core systems deliver greater performance to cope with even the most intensive use, so that individual cores can be assigned exclusively to compute-intensive tasks. For the user running multiple applications, as in this example, one core can concentrate on running the virus scan while another is handling the requirements for burning a DVD. AMD’s Turbo Core automatically adjusts to use six cores for cutting-edge applicationsand increases the frequency if applications only load three cores.

Fujitsu offers the ESPRIMO systems with a wide spectrum of processors, starting at single core AMD Sempron and dual-core AMD Athlon II X2 processors for less demanding office applications, followed by quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 for more demanding applications and the six-core AMD Phenom II X2 processors for the highest demands.

For users who need multiple screens, both ESPRIMO models have two PCI express slots to expand the system with two graphic cards so that four monitors can connect to the system at once. The AMD onboard graphics chip, Radeon HD4200 with Direct X10.1 support, allows users to connect two displays to the two digital ports. Users also benefit from the fastest way to connect external devices to a PC, as both models are prepared for fast I/O cards such as USB 3.0 cards.

Both ESPRIMO PCs are also quiet, and a lifecycle of up to 18 months means less maintenance and management, eliminating the need for frequent system updates.

The new ESPRIMO E/P models are available immediately.
