OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB
3. Conclusion
- Conclusion
OCZ promised after our Rally2 review, to deliver the ultimate and fastest ever USB stick. So, we were eager to see if the ATV Turbo could live up to this claim. The colour and design of the ATV Turbo make it unique.
We would have preferred that the protective cap attach to the main body (the other end) and not to a cap holder via a key chain. But this is a minor point and doesn't detract from the performance of the device.
In our performance benchmark, the OCZ ATV was very fast and performed according to the specs, delivering almost 33MB/sec reading and 25 MB/sec writing speeds with our HD Tach RW benchmark utility. Only Lexar's JumpDrive Lightning was faster (only slightly) in reading. The ATV was the fastest in writing...
So, the only thing that remains is the price tag. We found the OCZ ATV Turbo to be higher priced than the Lexar JumpDrive Lightning (US$97 vs US$81).
Admittedly, this is a very rugged stick, and according to OCZ, it is also waterproof. The $16 price difference is not that high if you can afford it.
Overall, this is a good product, with fast performance and corresponding
price.
