Sony's pocket-size HD-SG5 hard drive will be available soon in Europe, bringing a capacity of 500GB in your pocket. The hard disk features an 8.7mm aluminium casing with a scratch-resistant paint layer and comes with smart utility software, providing convenience and security while using the product on the go. Sony says that the Data Transfer Accelerator software reduces transfer time by half (when using transfer via USB 3.0). Even if you're connected via USB 2.0, the software doubles effective transfer rates to slash backup times. Completing the software package, Backup Manager takes care of protecting files with automated scheduled and incremental backups of users? data stored in the PC.

Available in a choice of black (HD-SG5B) or silver (HD-SG5S) finishes and weighing a 130g, the pocket-sized drives are available in Europe from February 2014.
