Sony unveiled today a line of 4K Ultra HD compatible televisions, projectors and receivers, along with the new ES Z AV receiver line, designed for the custom installation market. In addition to supporting 4K resolution, all of the latest Sony X950B Series models incorporate Sony?s X-tended Dynamic Range PRO to achieve a much higher dynamic range of brightness, using a backlighting algorithm.

Additionally, the X950B Series employs Sony?s TRILUMINOS Display technology and Sony?s 4K X-Reality PRO engine that up-scales any content in 4K resolution.

The 2014 4K Ultra HD TVs can also stream 4K content from Netflix. Also, Amazon customers will be able to purchase Ultra HD movies and TV episodes on Amazon Instant Video later this year. Select Ultra HD titles will also be available at no extra charge to Amazon Prime members through Prime Instant Video. Sony?s 2014 4K Ultra HD TV models and 4K Ultra HD Media Player will be able to receive this service in the United States when it becomes available. In addition, the The X950B Series TVs now feature Control over IP, as do all the 2014 X and W series TVs.

During CEDIA Expo, Sony is also demonstrating its reference standard and entry-level 4K home theater projectors. In addition to their Control over IP operation, the VPL-VW1100ES and VPL-VW600ES have been further enhanced by a new, PC-based calibration software. Both models are also flexible enough to render native 4K images, Full HD 3D, or upscaled HD.

Sony is also highlighting its FMP-X10 second generation 4K Ultra HD media player at CEDIA, which utilizes the latest HEVC codec to download or stream 4K movies and televisions shows at up to 60 frames per second. There?s also a new user interface, along with plans to support Control over IP capability.

Later this fall, the FMP-X10 will be upgraded to work with not just Sony TVs, but virtually every 4K Ultra HD TV model that supports HDMI 2.0 connectivity and HDCP 2.2 content protection.

The Sony X950B Series televisions, VPL-VW1100ES and VPL-VW600ES projectors and FMP-X10 media player are currently available.

Sony is also launching a new line of ES receivers - the STR-ZA3000ES, ZA2000ES and ZA1000ES.

At the top of the series is the STR-ZA3000ES 7.2 Channel 4K AV Receiver, with additional models STR-ZA2000ES and STR-ZA1000ES available. Streamlined install features have taken priority, minimizing time and steps needed for system design and installation. The new models now include an install friendly user interface and read panel, a button rich front panel for integration hidden by a magnetic faceplate, HDMI with HDCP 2.2, HDMI Matrix Switching, 3rd party certification and In-Ceiling speaker adjustment.

The newly designed front panel includes install-friendly cursor keys, providing operability without a remote, a two line-display that shows the information of Field and Value at the same time, and a numbered menu structure that helps the user not lose where they are in the process.

The back panel layout of all three models has also been redesigned to make wiring in a rack easier. A single-lined speaker terminal row allows for easy cable installation and management along with isolated Digital / Analog inputs provides for better audio/video quality.

The STR-ZA3000ES delivers surround sound and clear music reproduction (110W @ 8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD). It has been designed for a three room multi zone installation. An 8-port Giga Ethernet Hub with Power over Ethernet support helps various network installation cases, allowing for system flexibility and simple connectivity. The HDCP 2.2 Repeater (2 input/2 output) delivers playback of 4K Premium Content all with an HDMI connection.

The STR-ZA2000ES offers 100W @ 8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD, while the STR-ZA1000ES offers 90W @ 8 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD). They offer easy IP integration with control systems and browser-based configurability. In-Ceiling Speaker mode is also available.

The STR-ZA3000ES and STR-ZA2000ES 7.2 Channel 4K AV Receivers will be available starting mid-September for $1,699 and $1,399 respectively. The STR-ZA1000ES 7.2 Channel 4K AV Receiver will be available starting January 2015 for $899.

The WS-RE1 rack ears are available for all three models in September for $99.99.
