Sony is exhibiting its latest digital imaging products, including its new line-up of a(alpha) digital SLR cameras, the alpha DSLR-A350 and alpha DSLR-A300, at the PMA 2008 International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, which opened on January 31. a(Alpha) DSLR Cameras

The new alpha DSLR-A350 and DSLR-A300 cameras with "Quick Auto Focus Live View" for responsive and lag-free shooting are on display, as well as the easy-to-use DSLR-A200 model for entry users and enthusiast class alpha DSLR-A700 model.

The system’s 26 interchangeable lenses, including the newly-introduced "Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM" and "70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G SSM" will be exhibited, in addition to the new optional Sony HVL-F42AM flash unit and accessories. With this expanded product portfolio, alpha is set to broaden its system configuration capabilities and appeal to a wider user base. Also on display at the Sony booth is a prototype of the a (alpha) flagship model, revealed at the Sony press conference held on January 31.

Interchangeable Lenses
Under development is a wider lineup of interchangeable lenses, offering high picture quality and performance. Six concept lenses are being exhibited at PMA 2008.

Cyber-shot Digital Still Cameras

New Cyber-shot models (T, W, H, S series) will be exhibited in addition to new printer models, digital photo frames and other accessory lines.

Face detection capability and smile shutter function are featured on the new Cyber-shot cameras.

HD Photo Viewing: Photos can be enjoyed with high resolution and clarity when you connect Cyber-shot cameras to a compatible HDTV set, such as a Sony BRAVIA HDTV, via an optional Cyber-shot cradle or HD adapter cable. The new printers and digital photo frames can also display high-definition pictures (1920Χ1080 pixels). HandycamHigh-Definition Camcorders

Sony’s wide-ranging Handycam product portfolio is also on display. This includes the new HDR-SR12 and HDR-SR11 high-definition hard drive camcorders, based on the AVCHD camcorder format, which offer long continuous recording times -- up to 48 hours on the SR12 model. Also on display is the new HDR-UX20 high-definition DVD camcorder that features hybrid plus recording on three separate media (8GB internal memory, Memory Stick media and DVD disc).

ClearVid CMOS sensors incorporates Exmor technology, originally employed on the a (alpha) DSLR-A700 model. The technology minimizes picture noise, allowing the new camcorders to record high-resolution video and photos with natural color reproduction and rich details. Handycamcamcorders now feature face detection, a technology that identifies up to eight faces, and automatically adjusts focus, exposure and color control for natural-looking skin tones.
