We start our tests with some benchmarks that show how Toshiba's Adaptive Memory Technology could help your system become moore responsive and fast.
BootRacer was used to record the boot times of our Windows 7 system running on the Toshiba 1TB SSHD drive. We restarted the system repeatedly (6 times) to see if whether the self-learning algorithm could kick in and offer faster boot times.
PCmark vantage HDD Suite, PCMark 7 and PCMark 8 benchmarks were run several times to see whether the various consumer applications included in each tests were benefited by the drive's cache.
It is obvious that the boot time for the Toshiba SSHD becomes significantly lower as the SSHD learns which files are required for the booting procedure and caches them in order to deliver them faster.
PCMark Vantage, HDD Suite includes a set of typical consumer applications, such as Windows Defender, gaming, importing pictures, etc Running the benchmark more than once obviously makes significant difference in the total score for the Toshiba SSHD:
Below you see the results of Futuremark's PCMark 7 Professional edition. The software includes 7 PC tests for Windows 7, combining more than 25 individual workloads. Again, the drive's score kept increasing as we were running the benchmarks more than once, to stabilize somewhere after the 4rh run.
We continue with the PCMark 8 Storage benchmark, which uses traces recorded from Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and a selection of popular games. The PCMark 8 Storage benchmark highlights real-world performance differences between storage devices. The Toshiba SSHD scored impressively after the 5th run.
