Toshiba Starts Mass Production of 1080p, 1.12 Micrometer, CMOS Image Sensor
Toshiba's new 1.12?m, 1080p BSI CMOS image
sensor with color noise reduction (CNR) will enter mass
production next month in Japan.
First announced last March, the CMOS supports
capturing of 1080p video at 60fps, allowing use in front
cameras of mobile devices. The sensor integrates a CNR circuit
and realizes a signal-to-noise ratio equal to Toshiba's
equivalent products fabricated with 1.4µm pixel process.
