Toshiba Brings Its Android Tablet In Europe
Toshiba Europe GmbH today announced that it plans to bring a new tablet model featuring the latest Android platform to the European market.
The tablet, measuring 10.1" (25.7cm) diagonally has embedded GPS and features two video cameras.
Toshiba is planning to expand its tablet range with the next generation tablet in Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the first half of 2011.
The Toshiba tablet, powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, features a wide view 10.1-inch (25.7cm) diagonal multi-touch display in a 16:10 format with 1,280x800 pixels.
The tablet's Adaptive Display technology constantly adjusts parameters such as brightness and contrast according to the ambient lightening conditions. In addition, Toshiba's Resolution+ technology is integrated as standard. It enhances the quality of standard definition videos in order to exploit the full potential of the tablet's high definition display, independent of the quality of the source material. High sound quality is achieved thanks to Toshiba audio enhancements that optimise sound output to the surrounding conditions.
Toshiba's new tablet will support Mobile Broadband (3G). A built-in gyroscope, an accelerometer sensor, integrated GPS, and a two megapixel front-facing camera and five megapixel rear-facing camera comprise the features of the tablet. The Toshiba tablet has multiple connectivity options including an HDMI port as well as a full-size USB 2.0 port and a mini USB port for tablet as USB mass storage. A SD Card slot provides options for additional storage and transferring files. The tablet will also be equipped with 802.11n WLAN.
To complement the Android Market experience the device will also be pre-installed with Toshiba Places with its own app marketplace, making it easier for users to find apps optimised for the 10.1" (25.7cm) screen. Toshiba Places also offers an easy to use content sharing service that allows users to upload their own content to the cloud. They then can grant access to friends and family via a simple notification.
