Geeksphone Details 'Revolution' Dual-boot Android - Firefox OS Smartphone

Geeksphone, the startup that released the first Firefox OS developer smartphones, has released details on its 'Revolution' handset. The Revolution features Geeksphone's MultiOS technology, which allows you to choose your operating system. Starting with Google Android operating system, you can switch to Boot2Gecko by Mozilla, or any other community-supported flavor of an OS.

The device has a 4.7inch IPS qHD screen, a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 4GB EMMC + 1GB LPDDR2 and MicroSD support (up to 32GB.) It runs on a 2,000 mAh battery and has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera ? capable of shooting 1080p video at 30 frames per second ? as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper.

According to Geeksphone co-founder and CEO Rodrigo Silva-Ramos, the device will cost a little more than €200 ($270) without tax and expects the first units to ship by February 14.
