Sony's new Digital DVD Camcorder to go on sale
The DCR-DVD201, due out March 20, is Sony's latest DVD digital camcorder that records video directly onto a cartridge-type 8cm DVD-RW/-R disk. The 500g camcorder measures 50.5x88x136mm, and comes with a 1/5-inch 1.07-megapixel CCD.
Also available is the DCR-DVD101, a model with a 1/6-inch 680,000-pixel CCD. Both models are fitted with a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, and support 10x optical and 120x digital zoom capabilities.
Sony will produce 10,000 units of the DCR-DVD201 and 5,000 units of the DCR-DVD101 per month. They are both open-priced.
