Ritek offers first 4GB CompactFlash cards
Ritek introduced its RiDATA Pro CF, the first 4GB CompactFlash (CF) card in the world, following SanDisk’s recent launch of a 2GB CF card.
According to Ritek, the RiDATA Pro CF has capacity to store 1,000 songs, eight hours of MPEG-4 video or more than 2,000 high-resolution images. It offers an average reading speed of 4.48MB/second with a writing speed of 3.62MB/second. Currently in the global market only Apacer cards and the SanDisk Ultra II series have comparable read/write speeds, Ritek said.
Ritek cited the increasing resolution of high-end digital still cameras from five megapixels to eight megapixels as a main driver for the increased storage capacity.
Ritek will market the RiDATA Pro CF under its own brand. The company will exhibit the product at the 2004 CeBIT show in Hannover, Germany from March 18-24.
