Ahead announces 'NeroMIX' & CD-Recording API at Comdex 2000!

General Interest Nov 13,2000 0

"...Ahead Software will introduce its new hybrid-featured CD-Recording software, NeroMIX, at Comdex Fall 2000. Aptly sub-titled Born2Burn, NeroMIX will combine the essential elements of CD burning, with the flair of an Internet-ready media recorder, all in one customisable, skinable interface.

NeroMIX can create data, and audio CD's, or on-the-fly 1:1 CD copies for backup. By using the celebrated Nero CD-Recoding engine, the same stability, speed, and power, will ensure reliable and effortless recording. The integration of milestone technologies such as BURN-Proof and Just-Link, mean you'll never waste another CD. Supporting a multitude of formats, NeroMIX can rip audio, encode or decode MP3, or Twin VQ files.

Analog data, including your old records or cassettes, can be captured and subsequently encoded in preparation for CD burning. NeroMIX is modular in every sense of the word, and you have the ability to use an ever-growing library of industry standard supportive plug-ins and visual effects.

Internet radio, CD database access, and streaming, mean you're never far away from the wide Internet world itself. And for the true music fans out there, midi files can also be played and recorded to CD. NeroMIX is set to become available during December..."

- More Ahead News:

"...Ahead have announced the immediate OEM availability of the Nero CD-Recording API supporting Digital Rights Management based on Microsoft's Windows Media Technologies. OEMs who now integrate this API, can do so with the knowledge that their audio application fully supports Digital Rights Management when recording to CD.

Furthermore, the NeroAPI can record Windows Media Audio files at up to 16x on-the-fly, without the need for separate decoding prior to writing. This API is based on the celebrated Nero CD-Recording engine, recognized for its high speed and stability, and supporting all known CD-R/RW drives.

Microsoft's Digital Rights Management also supports the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) and the efforts of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), in protecting intellectual property rights worldwide..." NULL
