- Writing Quality

In order to test the RICOH MP5316DA DVD+R DL writing quality, we used the LiteOn SOHD-167T and the Plextor PX-712SA drives.

• Verbatim Double Layer media @ 4X

Using Nero CD/DVD Speed, we got a very good scan, indicating again, good quality performance from the drive with the DL media recorded. Reading speed was not reduced at any point, and the drive reached 9.68X maximum reading speed.

The reported PI error rates were lower than the 280 limit according to the Plextools scans. In general, the RICOH MP5316DA showed again, an image of a very good quality burner, even with Double Layer media.

• Ricoh Double Layer media @ 2.4X

The reported PI error rates were far above the 280 limit according to the Plextools scans. The Nero CDspeed graph was smooth though, with the drive reaching a maximum speed of 9.66X.

Bear also in mind that the Ricoh DL media was not recognized properly by the drive and was burned at 2.4X speed. so the burn quality might improve with future firmware releases.

The RICOH MP5316DA can burn directly all DVD+R9 projects with DVD-ROM booktype, ensuring you get maximum compatibility.
