Toshiba introduced a featured configuration (Tecra A4-S211) and a series of scalable options for the Tecra(R) A4 notebook series. The Tecra A4 can be configured to feature discrete graphics from either ATI or NVIDIA(R). As part of Toshiba's flagship business computing line, the enhanced Tecra A4 remains an affordable, widescreen notebook with the power to handle graphics-intensive multimedia applications for work or play.

"Due to the positive customer response Toshiba received for the Tecra A4 notebook line the company decided to build on the momentum and add several new offerings including such as discrete graphics from ATI and NVIDIA," said Taro Hiyama, vice president of marketing, Digital Product Division, Toshiba America Information Systems.

The Tecra A4 notebooks featuring the advanced graphic options are available for immediate customer purchase. The Tecra A4 notebook series is powered by next-generation Intel(R) Centrino(TM) Mobile Technology (formerly codenamed Sonoma). This new mobile technology is built around Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processors with 533 MHz front side bus, integrated wireless LAN and the new Mobile Intel(R) 915 Express chipset (formerly codenamed Alviso). This combination of features enables the Tecra A4 to deliver better performance and improved wireless and mobile security options.

With a streamlined form factor, the Tecra A4 houses a 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display to specifically meet the increasing demands of small and medium businesses. Toshiba designs all of its business notebooks to deliver unparalleled reliability, platform stability and an extended product life cycle.

The Tecra A4-S211 is priced at $1,399(1) with a one-year limited warranty and is available through Toshiba's traditional sales channels, which include dealers, distributors, VARs as well as ToshibaDirect - http://www.toshibadirect.com.
