Other measurements:
- ATER equals to ATIP error rate. This test can be run on a blank disc. The ATIP information encoded on CD-R includes a Cyclic Redundancy Check Code (CRC). The data is divided by a fixed polynomial and the remainder of this operation is encoded alongside the original data. Subsequently, the decoder performs the same polynomial division on the data and remainders are compared. If the remainders are identical then the data is deemed to be in error. The ATIP Error rate is the percentage of bad ATIP frames averaged over any ten-second period. Many bad ATIP frames can can seriously degrade the decoders performance.
- All Measurement
Under the "ALL MEAS" menu we can run the ATER reading and writing test. The software will plot the ATER graph before and after recording the disc at the selected speed. If the disc includes very low or zero amount of ATIP frames then the disc can be safely recorder at this speed.
