After so many pages we have to make a summary of the previous 23 pages. Our feeling is that the HLDS GP96Y external CD/DVD recorder is a very good and well optimized drive with additional unique features that you wont find anywhere else. Apart from being a well balanced reader/write is has compatibility with Android devices, meaning it can playback AudioCD and DVD-Video to your Android smartphone, TV, Tablet, etc.. We have covered in depth this crossover compatibility and for sure its a nice bonus for users who have a long collection of AudioCDs and DVD-Videos.

We were also impressed by the small dimensions and low weight of the drive, compared with most other external drives that follow "old" design and performance. Nowadays, not many manfucturers keep supporting optical storage devices with firmware updates and HLDS has an automated online Firmware updater to get the most of your drive. The two colour variation also is welcomed and we frankly liked very much the white colour of the drive (that comes also with white cables).

From the above we feel that you understand we liked the drive..It has very good reading/writing performance and can become your road warrior with the included USB-A and USB-C cables. More-over we feel its time to watch all those DVD-Video movies we gathered and have no playback player to view them.
