7.Effelon

The device as it is isn't being sold anymore to the Amazon.com however, we managed to get a similar product with just different name and design.

This drive is slight heavier than other product we already saw

and has dual type connection at the bottom (typeC, USB)

At the back there are some additional ports, the external optical drive drive features two USB ports, 1 Micro USB port, 1 SD slot, 1 TF slot.

You can also use two USB ports and Micro USB ports as well as TF card readers or SD card readers. (PS: SD port and TF slot are not to be used simultaneously. Micro USB port is for loading only.

Again we see the same sticker at the top of the ODD drive.

We did managed to peel it off and as you can see its manufactured May 2007 for HP company...

After connecting the drive to the test PC we saw that the ID of the drive is TS-L632M. We didn't found any newer firmware update for the drive.

As was expected, despite the fact that the drive is advertised as USB3.0 (and has the corresponding cable), in reality its connected with USB2.0 (high-speed).

Using the latest EAC (Exact Audio Copy) software we are able to detect important drive features, especially concerning Audio CD Ripping. The drive does seem to support C2 error info and doesn't Cache Audio which will result higher ripping speeds.

The drive doesn't support C1/C2 and PIE/PIF error scanning with OptiDriveControl and other similar software.

We found around the web the product specifications, mostly for the inner drive
